Q: Why do I keep on receiving email delivery failure for emails I never sent?
A: Many new computer viruses are using email spoofing. This results in a user receiving an email that appears to have originated from one source when it actually was sent from another source. The virus typically gets email addresses from the victim´s computer, and inserts these addresses in both the "From:" (sender) and "To:" (recipient) fields of the infected email. Therefore, if your email address happens to be in the address book of an infected machine, there is a chance that an email will be sent with your address in the "From:" field. When the message is trapped by a mail server with the right antivirus protection, the apparent originator of the email (in this case your email address) gets an email delivery failure message.
